How We Apply Epoxy

Four steps to a flawless floor

Surface Preparation

Diamond grinding, shot blasting, or acid etching to ensure a perfect bond. We assess your concrete and choose the right prep method.

Primer & Base Coat

A penetrating primer locks in the surface, followed by a heavy‑duty epoxy base coat tinted to your colour of choice.

Decorative Layer

Metallic effects, colour flakes, or quartz broadcast are applied while the base is still wet — creating your unique finish.

UV‑Stable Top Coat

A clear polyurethane or epoxy top coat seals the floor, adding durability, UV protection, and a lasting shine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Epoxy floor insights

How long does epoxy flooring last?

With proper preparation and a UV‑stable top coat, residential epoxy floors can last 10–15 years, and commercial floors 5–10 years depending on traffic. We provide a signed guarantee on every installation.

Can epoxy be applied over old tiles or concrete?

Yes — after proper surface preparation. We mechanically grind the existing surface to create a profile the epoxy can bond to. We never apply epoxy over failing substrates without remediation.

Is epoxy slippery when wet?

We can add non‑slip aggregates or textured top coats to any system. Flake and quartz epoxy are naturally slip‑resistant, while metallic and self‑levelling finishes can be made safe with a matte top coat.

How long before I can walk on a new epoxy floor?

Light foot traffic is usually possible after 24 hours. Full curing takes about 7 days, but we advise waiting 48 hours before moving furniture or vehicles onto the surface.
